We’ve had the pleasure of working with Ancestry on several campaigns that have helped bring the brand to life at key moments including the coronation of King Charles III, International Women’s Month and the 80th anniversary of VE Day in Europe. These campaigns have spanned from TV commercials and social content through to large-scale OOH and DOOH takeovers across multiple markets.
To bring to life the 80th anniversary of VE Day in Europe, we produced a TV and Social spot to explore the heroes of World War II from both on and off the battlefield. Exploring historical archive photography we were able to demonstrate how Ancestry helps people discover their family stories through the platform.
A logo suite was also created to badge the VE Day campaign consistently across all comms ranging from on-air and digital elements through to print media.
With the arrival of the 1921 Census on Ancestry, we set about defining a new house-style for Ancestry campaigns. By developing a new visual look and feel, we built a campaign of TV and social assets that helped explore the journey of discovery for the audience, and how the revelations of records, documents and archive photography can bring to life these extraordinary stories. Our particular focus was around incredible women and their achievements in celebration of International Women’s Month. This campaign ran primarily in the UK but was also adapted to promote Ancestry in Canada and Australia.
To celebrate the coronation of King Charles III, Ancestry launched a brand campaign to look back on the last coronation in 1953 and bring to life the stories of people back in that time, encouraging people to investigate their own heritage and history. The campaign was formed of large out of home takeover visuals displayed at iconic London Underground stations.
A suite of three historical people were developed to tell differing stories, each one displayed on digital screens across the station concourses, escalators and platforms.
The animated sites were then complimented with a series of portrait and landscape print artwork, taking over long passages within the stations for commuters to see the various stories and people as they passed through.
